Jewelry Care Guide

At Sunday of Love, every piece of jewellery is crafted with longevity in mind. From thoughtful design and meticulous sampling to precise development and final production, we are dedicated to creating timeless, high-quality jewellery that lasts. To preserve the beauty and durability of your pieces, we recommend following these care tips.

Everyday Wear

  • Remove your jewellery before cleaning, bathing, exercising, or sleeping to minimise exposure to harsh conditions.
  • Avoid direct contact with water, heat, and chemical products, as they can dull finishes and cause discolouration or oxidation of the metal. This includes chlorine, makeup, soap, perfume, and hairspray.
  • Cubic zirconia or other stones may also be affected by water, chemicals, and damp conditions, potentially losing their brilliance over time.
  • Handle your jewellery gently and avoid collisions with hard surfaces to prevent scratches, dents, or damage to the design or stones. Rings, in particular, are more exposed and prone to wear from daily activities.

Storing Your Jewelry

  • Store your jewellery individually in its accompanying Sunday of Love pouch or box to protect it from scratches, tangling, and exposure to sunlight.
  • Chains, bracelets, and delicate pieces should be stored untangled to prevent bending or breaking. Placing them in a soft pouch will offer extra protection.

Cleaning Your Jewelry

  • Clean your jewellery regularly with warm water and detergent-free soap or use a professional jewellery cleaning kit.
  • Gently pat pieces dry with a soft cloth to restore their natural shine. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh cleaners, as they can damage the surface and plating.

Metals Used in Sunday of Love Jewelry

We exclusively use high-quality precious metals to ensure the longevity and beauty of each piece.

925 Sterling Silver

  • As a soft metal, sterling silver may develop small dents or scratches over time, especially on chunky pieces like rings. This natural patina is part of the charm of sterling silver and reflects the story of its wear.
  • To maintain its shine, use a silver polishing cloth or professional cleaning solution when needed.

18K Gold-Plated Sterling Silver

  • Our gold-plated pieces are crafted with an 18K gold layer over 925 sterling silver and coated with an eco-friendly protective layer.
  • Gold plating will naturally wear off over time, depending on usage. To restore its original brilliance, gold-plated jewellery can be re-plated by a professional jeweller.
  • Avoid excessive force when opening and closing clasps, and familiarise yourself with their mechanisms to prevent damage.

Additional Care Tips

  • Avoid excessive bending or pulling: Chains and bracelets are particularly delicate. Handle them carefully to prevent breakage.
  • Keep your jewellery dry: Moisture accelerates tarnishing and affects the durability of stones. Ensure pieces are dry before storage.
  • Tangle-free storage: Keep chains or delicate bracelets untangled when storing to prevent kinks or weakening.

By following these care tips, you can ensure that your Sunday of Love jewellery remains as stunning as the day you first wore it.
